Stuyt Dairy Farmstead Cheese Company, LLC is located in Escalon, California. Escalon is located in California’s Central Valley and a productive area of San Joaquin County. The city is surrounded on all sides by scenic agricultural land and open spaces, the perfect home for Stuyt Dairy Farmstead Cheese Company, LLC.
Established in 2015, we began by making cheese best described a Dutch-style cheese handmade from raw cow's milk. Stuyt cheese is aged a minimum of 60 days; yet, preferred 90 days, for the best flavor. Aside from the traditional mild flavor, Stuyt Dairy Farmstead Cheese also offers several additional flavors. Other flavors include aged, cumin, smoked, bacon, garlic herb, onion parsley, jalapeno, and habanero.
As of June 2018, we now also offer cheese curds, also commonly know as "squeakers". Cheese curds give you an eye into the magic of cheesemaking, since all cheese starts by separating the curds from the whey. You may sample and grab a bag of fresh cheese curds by visiting us at the creamery.
In 2020, with an exponential amount of down time, we developed our Spanish-style cheese, El Capitan. This raw milk, Spanish-style cheese is fully aged. The semi hard texture provides a unique creaminess with sweet, slightly spicy undertones and a long lactic, pineapple finish. In 2022 this gem received 3rd place at the American Cheese Society competition in Oregon and has quickly become a fan favorite.
Additional offerings now include our fresh cheese spreads. This cheese is hand ladled to perfection. Its fluffy texture offers a unique combination of freshness and tang. Often used in place in place of cream cheese or creme fraiche it is incredibly smooth and full of delicious flavor.
